In November 2015, CHETNA joined hands with Geneva Global & Freedom Fund for an innovative initiative of combating human trafficking in Uttar Pradesh. The strategy that was adopted consists of networking with other NGOs and advocacy with government machineries at the state level. Mass awareness on the issue of child trafficking is also an important component of this initiative. This has been done under the banner of Human Liberty Network, which is a group of NGOs in U.P. and Bihar working for the welfare of trafficking survivals and to minimise the prevalence of trafficking. The advocacy activities that CHETNA carried out involve various district and state level government departments and bodies such as Police department, Labour Department, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Vigilance Committee, Ministry of Women and Child Development.
