YUVA, the employability development centre for street youth was started in May 2017. The initiative aimed at opening avenues for respectable jobs for the street youth of Delhi. The centre was started to cater to employment needs of youth residing in the marginalized communities of Sarai Kale Khan and its surrounding areas by enhancing their skills. Beneficiaries of this project are street youth in the age group of 16 to 25 years. With no accessibility to jobs and severe lack of opportunity for skill development, these young people are often found to be involved in health-hazardous work in a vulnerable environment- social as well as physical. YUVA engaged with over 200 street youth to conduct trainings, linking them with specialized training partners and placing them in respectable jobs.
